Privacy policy

WoodDeckS'ON ("we", "us") is a custom carpentry business based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you contact us through this website, through our Facebook and Instagram pages and ads, or directly, and how we use it. We handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What we collect

• Your name, email address and phone number.
• The address or neighbourhood of the project, if you share it.
• Details about your project and any photos you choose to send.
• Your answers in lead forms on Facebook or Instagram (for example, the service you're interested in and whether you own the home).
• Basic technical information that any website receives, such as your IP address and browser type, used for security and to keep the site running.

How we use it

• To reply to you, arrange a visit and prepare an estimate.
• To plan, carry out and follow up on your project, including warranty visits.
• To send invoices and receipts and keep the business records the law requires.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we don't use it for anything unrelated to your project. We will only send you marketing messages if you have agreed to receive them, and you can opt out at any time.

Who we share it with

Your information is shared only with service providers that help us run the business, and only as needed: our website hosting (Cloudflare), the service that delivers website form messages to our inbox (Resend), our email provider (Google), our invoicing and payment tools, and Meta when you contact us through a Facebook or Instagram lead form. Some of these providers may store information outside Canada. When a project needs licensed trades or subcontractors working under our supervision, they receive only the details needed to do the work, such as the project address.

Photos of your project

Photos you send are used to understand and estimate your project. We may photograph our finished work. We never show your name, exact address or anything that identifies you without your permission, and you can ask us not to use photos of your project at any time.

Cookies

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. If we add analytics or advertising tools in the future, we will update this policy first.

How long we keep it

We keep project and contact information for as long as needed to serve you, cover warranty periods and meet tax and record-keeping rules. Enquiries that don't turn into a project are deleted when they're no longer needed.

Your choices

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted (except what we must keep by law). Contact us at wooddeckson@gmail.com or 204-930-7973, and we'll respond within 30 days.

Security

We use reputable providers and keep access to client information limited to the people who need it to work on your project.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above shows when it last changed.
