Can the deck go around a tree?
Yes. We frame and cut the boards around trees, pipes and other obstacles so the deck looks like it was always meant to be there, and leave the room a tree needs to grow.
Can you add a design into the deck?
Yes. Inlays such as a compass star, contrasting borders or other shapes can be cut into composite boards. Tell us what you have in mind and we'll plan it with you.
Is composite a good choice for Winnipeg winters?
Yes. Quality composite boards handle our cold and our freeze–thaw cycles well, as long as the structure underneath is built properly. That is where we put most of our attention.
Composite or wood: which should I choose?
It depends on how you use the deck, how much upkeep you want and your budget. During the estimate Dmitriy walks you through both options with reasons, and recommends what makes sense for you, not simply the most expensive option.
Can you replace only the boards on my existing deck?
Often, yes, if the frame is in good shape. We check the structure first and tell you honestly whether it can carry new composite boards or needs work.
Do I need a permit?
Some decks do. During the estimate Dmitriy will tell you whether your project needs one and what that involves.
What does the warranty cover?
New work comes with a 2-year warranty on our workmanship. Composite boards and railing systems also carry the manufacturer's own warranty on the material. When the warranty period ends, we come back at no charge to check that everything is right and adjust anything that needs it. Every situation is individual, so if something doesn't look right, just call or text us. A visit and assessment are always free, even after the warranty period.
